MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SCALING UP

Build your company while earning your master’s degree

A one-year accredited MSc for ambitious founders, builders and professionals who want to turn ideas into traction or scale what they have already started.

Why this master exists

Too often, higher education and entrepreneurship are treated as separate worlds. First you study. Then, years later, you may finally start building something of your own.

We believe that is not how it works for entrepreneurial people.

This master is designed for people who do not want to postpone building. It is for people who want serious academic development and real entrepreneurial progress at the same time. At Unknown University, what you learn is directly connected to what you are building in the real world.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU

Founders fix the future

Envision your future

Imagine a year from now: You have figured out the problem worth solving, developed your solution, achieved your first sales and planned your next steps after graduating.

With our MSc in Scaling Up, your entrepreneurial dream doesn’t have to fade. Don’t postpone your plunge any further, this is your moment. Corporate offices are full of people who once wanted to start something. Our MSc gives you the credibility of a master’s degree and the guidance to become a founder and make your first revenue.

What you build in one year

By the end of the program, you do not only leave with a degree. You leave with progress you can point to. During the year, you work on:

  • turning a rough idea into something people actually want;
  • getting out of the building and testing your assumptions in the real world;
  • finding your first customers, first traction or your next growth lever;
  • sharpening what you sell, who it is for and why they should care;
  • building a go-to-market approach that is grounded in action, not slides;
  • learning how to sell, pitch and move people to say yes;
  • making better founder decisions under pressure and uncertainty;
  • strengthening the financial and legal backbone of your business;
  • using technology, AI and tools to build smarter and move faster;

How the program works

The program runs across two semesters and combines academic depth with entrepreneurial execution.

Throughout the year, you take part in focused workshops and tailored sessions built around what entrepreneurs actually need. Alongside that, you receive personalised coaching and mentoring while working full-time on your own business, growth challenge or venture concept.

You spend the majority of your time working full-time on your own company. Everything in the program is applied directly to your business. No abstract assignments detached from reality, but work that helps you validate faster, make better decisions and build real traction.

1

Semester 1: Foundations

  • You will discover the problem worth solving, craft a compelling vision, and validate assumptions with fast experiments. A pressure cooker start to get your business and vision started.
  • You will segment your market, position your offer, and design a go-to-market plan with measurable milestones. Getting ready for your first revenue or further growth of your existing revenue.
  • You will learn how to grow and recruit a team. You will also get insight how to build founding team rituals, set a feedback culture, and implement decision making frameworks specifically applicable or fast-moving startup environments.
  • You will learn the latest from the marketing and sales field. You will set up your marketing funnels and develop sales skills and strategies applicable for b-to-b as well a b-to-c.
2

Semester 2: Build & Scale

  • Proof mastery of your entrepreneurial capabilities and research skills by digging into a practical threshold that is keeping you from further scaling your business. What is holding you back from accelerating your growth and how have other founders dealt with this challenge?
  • Implementing your developed solution and reflecting on the effectiveness in actual practice. The proof of the pudding is in the eating…

Weekly schedule

It is a full-time program, but not in the traditional sense. You will not be in class all day, every day. The number of classes is intentionally limited. Instead, the program is built around focused sessions, workshops and coaching moments that are tailored to what entrepreneurs actually need at each stage of building.

  • APPLICATION PROCESS

    Applying for the Master of Science in Scaling Up is designed to be clear, personal, and focused on fit.

    We do not believe admissions should only be about paperwork. We want to understand who you are, what you are building, and why this programme matches your ambitions. That is why our application process combines a practical application step with a personal admissions conversation. This reflects how Unknown approaches education as a place for people who want to build, grow, and take ownership of their path.

    Step 1. Submit your application

    Start by submitting your application and sharing your background, motivation, ambitions, and relevant documents. This gives our admissions team the first insight into your profile and your reasons for applying.

    Step 2. Application review

    Our admissions team carefully reviews your application to assess your fit, mindset, and potential. We look beyond grades alone. We also consider your motivation, direction, and whether the programme matches the way you want to learn and grow.

    Step 3. Admissions call

    If your profile matches the programme, the next step is a personal admissions conversation. This is the moment to go deeper into your goals, expectations, and the kind of journey you want to pursue during the MSc.

    The application process is not only about whether you qualify academically. It is also about whether there is a strong match between you and the learning environment at Unknown University. We want to make sure the programme fits your ambitions, your mindset, and the way you want to build your future. This personal and fit-based approach is consistent with how Unknown presents its admissions process and study experience across its admissions pages.
