YEAR 1 — FOUNDATION
In your first year, you build the mindset and fundamentals every entrepreneur needs. You explore who you are as a founder, what kind of impact you want to create and how to understand customers, trends and opportunities. This year gives you the base for everything that follows: self-awareness, curiosity, structured thinking and the confidence to take the first steps toward building your own venture.
You will learn to think like a founder, research like a problem-solver, design like a creator and make early decisions with clarity rather than fear. Year 1 is all about discovering your direction and developing the foundation you’ll use throughout your entrepreneurial journey.
1.1 Ready to Start
This module introduces you to the entrepreneurial mindset. You learn how to move from idea to action, how to reduce uncertainty and how to test whether a concept has potential.
You will learn to:
- Use entrepreneurial tools such as effectuation, Blue Ocean Strategy and the Business Model Canvas
- Identify customer needs and validate assumptions early
- Manage uncertainty, take initiative and make informed go/no-go decisions

1.2 Founders and Ideas
You start with yourself. This module helps you understand your values, motivations, habits and experiences so you can develop ideas that fit who you are as a founder.
You will learn to:
- Build self-awareness and emotional intelligence
- Identify your “personal why” and turn it into opportunity areas
- Reflect on beliefs and behaviours that support or block your growth

1.3 Impact Entrepreneurship
You explore what meaningful impact means to you and how ventures can contribute positively to society, the economy and the environment.
You will learn to:
- Apply systems thinking to analyse real-world issues
- Evaluate impact initiatives and their trade-offs
- Design your own impact vision and direction for future research

1.4 Trendwatching
You learn to identify emerging trends and shifts that shape customer behaviour, industries and society. This helps you position your ideas in a changing world.
You will learn to:
- Research trends using structured frameworks
- Analyse cultural, technological and behavioural shifts
- Translate trends into opportunities for new ventures

1.5 Finance and Legal for Founders I
You gain the basic financial and legal knowledge every founder needs, from reading statements to understanding risk and ownership.
You will learn to:
- Read financial statements and understand unit economics
- Evaluate risk, investment needs and cost structures
- Understand legal basics such as contracts, intellectual property and liability

You learn how to design and execute reliable research to test your assumptions and understand your customers.
